FLC member Nikki Smetters recently completed the Masters of Fine Arts: Illustration as Visual Essay at the School for Visual Arts in New York! Her thesis project (shown below) was the creation of a book illustrating the tall tales of Ghastley, Ohio. Join us in congratulating Nikki on her huge achievement and in welcoming her back to Columbus!!
“Ghastley, Ohio, is a very normal town. As you can see from these glimpses into the residents’ day-to-day lives, nothing very special happens there. They go on picnics, play summer concerts in the village square, and lock their doors when the mothmen come. It’s a little boring, really. If you avoid the lily pond, you should live a long life there.”
